And in all that time, the NHRC recommended disciplinary action in just ONE case.

In 2024 alone, 2,739 people died in custody.

25 years of NCRB data records 2,253 deaths in police custody.

And for six straight years — ZERO convictions.

India has had legal safeguards against custodial abuse since 1997.

The rules exist.

So where is the accountability?
Who was responsible?
